Anxiety can often produce the onset of other symptoms and affects the whole body.

Anxiety is something most people experience at some point in their life but there are individuals who find it difficult to cope. With the ‘reptilian brain’ always engaged, their anxiety takes over, affecting decision making, work, relationships and general living.

Anxious people can find it hard to communicate affectively, experience physical symptoms and get into negative thought cycles which exasperate the problem.

Work-related Stress

Work-related stress has become one of the main reasons why people are absent from work.

According to HSE.gov.uk 25.8 work days were lost, per person, due to work related stress in 2017/18.

A study conducted by Perkbox, an employee engagement firm, showed only 9% of the 3,000 British workers asked said they had never experienced work-related stress.

If you investigate further the statistic don’t get any better and the loss of job security in the past few years has only contributed to the problem.

I am passionate about the way businesses conduct their mental health policies and work with their employees to help reduce the levels to stress experienced.

Less stress in the workplace equals more productivity and a healthier working environment.

But lets not manage stress, lets kick it to the kerb!

Changing how you manage workloads and situations, is the first step to becoming stress free. Challenging the way employers deal with their staff is the next step, but ultimately de-stressing is more about self management than stress management!

Equine Sports Confidence

Working with individuals to tackle their anxiety and build their confidence, helping them to become more self-aware impacts positively on the way they interact with their horses. This is evident from the work I have done and the feedback I get from my clients.

If you want to build a more understanding relationship with your horse, making  small changes in your own behaviour can make a huge difference.

Horses are extremely sensitive to the way we feel and if we are not emotionally balanced it is no wonder they are not always as cooperative as we might like them to be.

I have been riding horses since I was 6 years old and have owned horses in the UK and in the USA. I have trained with some amazing people along the way and have a deep interest in the Human/Equine relationship.

Habits

Habits are repetative behaviours which become ingrained in our everyday life and are missed if they stop.

As you go through life your habits can change and you can find new habits and lose old ones, but some habits linger and you may find yourself struggling to let go of habits which no longer serve you.

Habits such as nail biting, over eating, procrastination, everyday drinking, smoking. lateness, thumb sucking etc. can all be removed from your life with help.

Hypnotherapy is a great tool for habit removal as it disrupts the habit loops which have been formed over time, and stops you from thinking about the thing you no longer want to do.

I have been riding horses since I was 6 years old and have owned horses in the UK and in the USA. I have trained with some amazing people along the way and have a deep interest in the Human/Equine relationship.

Anger/Aggression

Anger/aggression is an emotional reaction to a situation/stimulus where we have lost control of our ability to choose an appropriate response. The reasons for this are often underlying frustrations or challenges which we may not even be consciously aware of.

Hypnotherapy Guilt

In my many years in practice, I have found that people feel guilty for all kinds of things; they didn't go to a party they were invited to; they didn't remember a distant relative's birthday; they accidentally ran over their neighbours cat.

Guilt can eat away at us, creating negativity, lower self-worth and is, in my opinion, the most destructive emotion. It is not something we are born with, it is learnt, or more accurately, taught.

Maybe be its time to unlearn Guilt!

IBS

Hypnotherapy has been proved to help manage the pain associated with irritable bowel.

There is evidence to support the use of hypnotherapy to help in this condition for both adults and children and the National Institute for Health and Clinical Guidance (NICE) recommends the NHS should consider referring patients for hypnotherapy if their irritable bowel is persistent and has failed to respond to simple prescribed medicine.
